UniCourt, a leading provider of Legal Data as a Service (LDaaS) to law firms and legal technology partners, is pleased to announce that it received the 2024 Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Award in the Practice Management Innovation category. American Legal Media’s (ALM) Leaders in Tech Law Awards recognize legal technology innovation and spotlight those working on game-changing products and initiatives in several categories.
The judges recognized UniCourt for its API-first approach to delivering federal and state court dockets and legal analytics in real time. Released in 2023, the UniCourt Enterprise API enables law firms to incorporate this external data into their workflows for experience management, business development, litigation strategy, docket management, and other data-centric functions. Additionally, UniCourt normalizes the data, simplifying the process of extracting actionable insights from across multiple jurisdictions.
Josh Blandi, UniCourt’s CEO and Co-founder, said of the award, “This award validates our vision of a legal data ecosystem where that ecosystem needs people who are out “drilling and refining oil,” and it needs other people creating refined products from that “oil.” So, we’re focused on our part of the ecosystem – we’re out drilling and refining data so that other companies can build amazing products and services from this refined data.”
In October of 2023, the company announced that it was expanding its offering to include data from an additional 14 states and has recently indicated that over the next eight months, it will double its coverage from approximately 1,500 state and federal courts to over 3,000 covering more than 40 states.
