On Monday, June 3rd 2024, LexisNexis announced the planned acquisition of Henchman. When Henchman started their journey back in 2020, they realised they just scratched the surface of delivering value to legal professionals when drafting complex contracts. Four years later, Henchman serve over 160 legal and corporate customers in 30+ countries, including top U.S. and European law firms and companies.
During this time, their efforts have been recognised, most recently with the Product of the Year award at the ALM Legal Innovation & Technology Awards 2024. Yet, with the fast evolution of legal tech, it is only just beginning.
“We see this union with LexisNexis as an extension of our drafting vision to proactively surface valuable and strategic insights for customers – delivering a center of knowledge to legal teams. We believe the combination of our teams and tech will empower customers to make informed decisions faster, generate outstanding work, and drive economic value for their organisations.” Gilles Mattelin, Co-founder & Co-CEO of Henchman.
The collaboration will serve as a tremendous catalyst for LexisNexis to deliver a personalized generative AI experience and better serve customers through data enrichment. Henchman’s core product functionality will be available to existing and new customers. LexisNexis has immediate plans to utilise Henchman technology with Lexis+ AI as well as Lexis ® Create, the generative AI solution for drafting in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Copilot.
“We’re excited about this new chapter in our journey, and we look forward to bringing the future of contract drafting to you,” Gilles Mattelin, Jorn Vanysacker & Wouter Van Respaille, – Henchman’s founders
