Irwin Mitchell has reported a significant milestone, with its revenues surpassing £300 million for the first time. The firm’s group revenue rose by 10% to £304.3 million for the year ending April 30, 2024, compared to £276.4 million the previous year. Profit before tax also saw a substantial increase, jumping 45% from £15 million to £21.7 million. The firm attributed this growth to several strategic acquisitions and expansions.
Craig Marshall, group chief executive at Irwin Mitchell, stated: “Despite a year of significant change in the business we’ve demonstrated remarkable resilience to deliver a strong performance. We have a strong balance sheet and head into the new year with positive momentum as we focus on becoming a more agile and dynamic business for the future delivering sustainable and profitable growth.” He emphasized the firm’s commitment to enhancing client and colleague experiences and outlined plans to further strengthen their market position in various legal and financial services sectors.
The year also saw Irwin Mitchell making strategic investments, including opening a new office in Brighton and acquiring Silk Family Law in the North East and Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie in Scotland. These acquisitions contributed an additional £4.1 million to the group’s revenue. Following their strong financial performance, the board agreed to donate £500,000 to the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation, which supports various good causes in the UK and abroad.
