LawTalk, the largest legal consulting app in Korea, has set an ambitious goal of achieving a corporate valuation of $1 billion within the next three years. This objective comes after the Ministry of Justice recently removed regulatory obstacles. On September 26, the Justice Ministry overturned the Korean Bar Association’s decision to penalize 123 lawyers associated with LawTalk. In May 2021, the Bar Association had modified the Attorney-at-law Act to prohibit lawyers from advertising or collaborating with services that estimate case outcomes without legal qualifications, potentially jeopardizing their registration with LawTalk.
